Signing in
What it does
Signing in identifies you to the platform so it can show the data and actions your role allows.
Where to find it
Open the platform's web address. If you're not signed in, you're taken to the sign-in page.

Common tasks
Sign in
- Enter your username (or email) and password.
- Select Sign in.
- If your organization uses a one-time code or single sign-on, follow the extra prompt.
You land on your dashboard.
Change my password
Open the user menu and choose Change my password. What you see depends on where your organisation keeps your password, and the screen works this out for you:
- This platform holds your password. Enter your current password and the new one twice.
- Your organisation's sign-in service holds it (single sign-on). There are no password boxes, because this platform has never seen your password and could not check it. Choose Set a new password, and you will be asked to pick the new one on your organisation's own sign-in screen.
⚠ Either way you will be signed out, on this device and every other one. That is the point: a password is changed because someone else may know it, and a change that left other sessions running would not take the account back. The screen says so before you submit. Sign in again with the new password.
Sign out
Open the account menu (top-right) and choose Sign out. Always sign out on shared computers.
Turn on two-factor authentication
Open the user menu and choose Account security, then Set up two-factor authentication.
- Add the setup key to an authenticator app on your phone, or use the link to open the app directly if you are reading this on that phone.
- Enter the code the app shows and choose Confirm and turn on.
- Save the recovery codes. They are shown once and never again. Each one works a single time, and they are the only way back in if you lose your phone.
⚠ Nothing is switched on until step 2 succeeds, so a setup that did not work cannot lock you out.
From then on, signing in asks for a code after your password. If you do not have your phone, choose I don't have my authenticator on that screen and use a recovery code instead.
Turning it off asks for a current code, to confirm it is really you.
I can't sign in
- Double-check the username and password (passwords are case-sensitive).
- If you're locked out after several attempts, wait a few minutes and try again.
- Still stuck? Contact your administrator to reset your password or unlock your account — the platform never emails your password.
Tips & limitations
- What you can see and do after signing in depends on your role and organization — see Users, roles & permissions and Visibility & consent.
- For your security, sessions expire after a period of inactivity; just sign in again.
When something looks wrong
| What you see | What it usually is |
|---|---|
| Sign-in is refused although the password is right | Repeated failures lock the account for a period; wait rather than retrying faster |
| The change-password screen has no password boxes | Your organisation's sign-in service holds your password; use Set a new password |
| Sign-in asks for a code you cannot produce | Use I don't have my authenticator and enter a recovery code; ask an administrator if you have none left |
| Signed in, but the product looks empty | You have an account but no roles yet |
| Signed out unexpectedly | Your session expired, or the same account signed in elsewhere |
| Signed in as the wrong organisation | Your session carries a tenant and facility — use the scope selector rather than signing out |
